Newgrange | Winter Herbs, Cinnamon, & Moss
Newgrange is 5,200 year old passage tomb located in Brú na Bóinne, the heart of Ireland’s ancient past. It was a place of astrological, spiritual, religious and ceremonial importance to Neolithic people. During the Winter Solstice, the passage and chamber are illuminated through a roof-box opening. Through this narrow beam of light, the whole chamber becomes illuminated. For Neolithic people, this event would have served as a powerful symbol of life overcoming death.
Mood: Deep Winter is all around you as you wait for the rising sun. Neolithic carvings surround you. Ancient rites in ancient tongues. There you will greet the Winter Solstice...
Fragrance: Enchanting notes of winter herbs of clove, basil and green leaf, leading to fruity nuances of apple and cassis, emerging to a spicy heart of cinnamon, drying to mossy woods, crisp snow, warm amber and patchouli.
